Sloaney Events: Peddling for Patisserie

Last weekend, The Sloaney, was invited to attend a preview of the upcoming ‘Peddling for Patisserie’ coffee and cake cycling cruise that takes place on Saturday 8th October.

Bicycles offer a healthy and convenient method of transport and the streets in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea provide some beautiful scenery. Many people are intimidated by the busy roads in London; however, you should not be put off peddling for this reason as a labyrinth of quiet lanes, avenues and mews routes await every journey.

To encourage residents to enjoy the benefits of cycling, Bikeminded are inviting you to join a tour. Not only will the tour reveal some of the shortcuts available to cyclists in the borough, but it will also incorporate some of the most prestigious and delicious cake shops.

You can enjoy the journey at a leisurely pace and it will be a thoroughly pleasurable experience. Starting at a fashionable coffee spot in Notting Hill, the tour passes through Kensington Gardens, before weaving through Knightsbridge to stop at Pierre Herme for some award-winning macaroons. The Sloaney  tried the ‘Rose’ flavour macaroon and it was simply divine. The tour completes in Chelsea, where high tea is ready and waiting.

With The Sloaney’s fondness for fashion, a highlight of the tour was the cycle past Harrods, before venturing along Sloane Street. Some of our favourite designers looked as enticing as the delicious pink macaroon from Pierre Herme.

The tour costs just £5, which is a great price considering the treats on offer. With a limited number of places available, you must book a slot in advance.
